After Winning The Esports Championship I’m Going To Pilot A Mecha: Chapter 157
- Big Tsunami
No one understood better than Ji Mingzhu the unparalleled sense of oppression when facing a Titan. The scorching, turbulent white light poured out from the massive cannons on [Zhu Rong], and even before it touched [Dawn], Ji Mingzhu could already feel the intense heat. The air inside the sealed cockpit seemed to boil at that moment.
Everyone watching this scene couldn’t help but hold their breath, anticipating [Dawn] being melted on the spot.
There’s still a chance!
Ji Mingzhu’s eyes were blazing with determination, showing no signs of despair. Titans were undoubtedly powerful, and having three Titans together would make anyone feel hopeless. However, it’s crucial to remember that these three Titans of the Netherworld Organization had no pilots. They acted purely on instinct, like newborn beasts. If Ji Mingzhu were facing three Titans controlled by pilots, he might have no chance. But against just the Titans themselves…
The densely packed buttons in the cockpit lit up in an instant, casting a multicolored glow on Ji Mingzhu’s face. The crimson [Dawn] suddenly seemed to go berserk, radiating intense red light. Extending its arm, it fired a high-energy laser cannon straight ahead!
With a loud explosion, a spark burst from the Titan’s chest. Although it couldn’t break through the Titan’s force field, the massive impact caused [Zhu Rong] to stagger for a moment, its vision obscured by the blaze. In that split second, Ji Mingzhu pulled the control lever, and [Dawn] executed an unbelievable right-angle maneuver!
Boom!
Zhu Rong’s solar ray burst out, almost grazing the side of [Dawn]. The moment it made contact with the solar ray, the outer armor melted instantly, but it was only the shoulder armor that got melted. With an almost superhuman, miraculous right-angle maneuver, Ji Mingzhu escaped what seemed to be a certain death. Although [Dawn]’s shoulder armor had completely melted, exposing the dense wiring and components beneath, making the damage appear severe, there was no doubt that Ji Mingzhu had survived!
The citizens of the Satellite City, glued to the satellite feed, erupted with excitement!
The strongest, most perfect Titan pilot, Ji Mingzhu!
Even Zuo Quanzong broke into a sweat at the recent events. Despite the inherent limitations of the mecha’s performance, Ji Mingzhu’s piloting was flawless. That bizarrely perfect right-angle maneuver—there wasn’t another person in the world who could pull it off under such perilous circumstances!
[Shoulder armor damaged, mecha damage rate at 16%…]Red lights flashed inside the cockpit. Although only the shoulder armor was damaged, a mecha was an extremely sophisticated weapon. This damage rate affected the entire mecha’s operational capabilities, requiring the pilot to exert more effort to maintain balance.
Ji Mingzhu didn’t have time to worry about all that. His movements didn’t pause for a moment. After dodging Zhu Rong’s solar ray, the floating cannons behind [Dawn] made a soft clicking sound as they detached from its back!
The previous coordination with Zuo Quanzong using the EMD matrix had already caused significant damage to the floating cannons. Coupled with the battle against the Titans, the floating cannons were almost useless now. Ji Mingzhu decisively discarded them, allowing [Dawn]’s speed to increase further.
However, this also meant Ji Mingzhu lost the offensive capability and energy shield provided by the floating cannons, leaving no margin for error.
Zhu Rong once again opened its solar ray cannon, preparing to obliterate the red mecha in front of it. But Ji Mingzhu had no intention of entangling with the Titans. With a hum from the power core, [Dawn] broke the sound barrier at speeds exceeding Mach 20, continuing to speed towards the Sky City’s drop point!
He wasn’t arrogant enough to think he could take on three Titans at once. Just the time he had spent so far had allowed many Aberrations and Netherworld Organization mechas to surpass him. This was a different kind of race; whoever reached the destination first would gain the upper hand.
Without the heavy floating cannons, [Dawn] moved more nimbly, crossing vast distances in a flash like a bolt of lightning.
However, the next second, a massive commotion erupted behind him!
The golden, ethereal diamond shield in front of Dijiang rapidly contracted and then expanded, forming a golden energy javelin aimed at [Dawn], intending to halt Ji Mingzhu’s progress.
Swish——!
[Dawn] spun and sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the attack. The golden javelin pierced the ground ahead, and after a moment’s silence, it erupted like a nuclear bomb, creating a massive explosion whose shockwave nearly sent [Dawn] flying!Ji Mingzhu remained calm, swiftly maneuvering [Dawn] to stabilize its form and regain balance. The enormous crater left behind bore witness to the aggressiveness of Dijiang, the Titan.
In the next instant, Zhu Rong’s solar ray struck again!
The suppressive fire from the two Titans was relentless. The phrase “dancing on the blade’s edge” couldn’t fully capture [Dawn]’s current state. Ji Mingzhu demonstrated his miraculous piloting skills: Garos’ frequency-shifting steps, right-angle lateral maneuvers, and the devilish triple-drive charge…
The red lightning darted left and right. Just when everyone thought Ji Mingzhu would be hit, [Dawn] would miraculously dodge with an incredible move.
People’s eyes couldn’t keep up; they stared blankly at the dazzling figure on the battlefield, unable to put their shock into words.
A godlike pilot.
Even the three Titans of the Calamity Control Bureau outside Jiusheng City watched Ji Mingzhu intently. As fellow Titan pilots, they knew how terrifyingly skilled Ji Mingzhu’s maneuvers and evasions were. Trying to put themselves in Ji Mingzhu’s shoes, they realized with dismay that if they were in his position, they wouldn’t last three seconds before being blasted to pieces by the Titans’ onslaught!
Amid their astonishment, Qi Ling’s voice urged from the cockpit.
[Dawn], piloted by Ji Mingzhu, drew closer to Sky City and the three Titans outside the city. Seeing that the Titans of the Netherworld Organization couldn’t catch the slippery [Dawn], Qi Ling’s tone grew colder, trying to compel the three Titans of the Calamity Control Bureau to join the fray. However, Qi Ling’s request was denied.
“Sorry.”
The Titan pilot in [Qiang Liang] shrugged. “We haven’t received orders from the Calamity Control Bureau and can’t act on our own.”
Zuo Quanzong ultimately managed to persuade the numerous high-ranking officials in the virtual meeting. This legendary figure still wielded immense influence in today’s era. In a time when the New Humans were restless and struggling to find a leader to represent them, Zuo Quanzong’s appearance was like a beacon of light in a disoriented wilderness. At least, Zuo Quanzong was the only trustworthy and clearly defined figure among the high-ranking officials of the satellite cities.
Rejected by the Titan pilots, Qi Ling’s face darkened.
These damn—
Outside Jiusheng City lay a vast sea, known among the elderly of Jiusheng City as the “Sea of Death.” This sea was home to a staggering number of high-level Aberrations. Now, the Sky City above rumbled, breaking through the clouds and falling downward, casting a massive shadow over the Sea of Death. The dark clouds overhead created an indescribable sense of foreboding.
Ji Mingzhu’s [Dawn] was already very close to the Sea of Death. Even though being pursued by three Titans, he had broken through the encirclement of both the Feibo and the Netherworld Organization, taking the lead in reaching the target. Meanwhile, the Sky City above was about to fall.
Roar!
Just as Ji Mingzhu was about to reach the sea, several muffled roars emerged from the Sea of Death. The once calm sea began to churn violently, and massive, bizarre-shaped beasts emerged from the dark waters. These creatures were high-level Aberrations, among the most terrifying in their tier. Their degree of mutation was the highest, and even Feibo couldn’t control them.
These marine Aberrations, disturbed from their slumber, surfaced from the sea, their enormous heads breaking through the churning waters. Their thick exoskeletons and skin resembled islands floating on the sea, and their cold, glowing eyes gazed fiercely at the intruders emerging from Jiusheng City.
As Ji Mingzhu approached the edge of the sea, he was immediately attacked by one of these Aberrations. The marine Aberration, seemingly displeased by the disturbance, emerged from the water with its heavy body. Water streamed off its body, flooding the wilderness, and it opened its gaping maw to bite at [Dawn]!
This situation was akin to adding insult to injury. Ji Mingzhu cursed his luck inwardly, but his movements remained swift. He maneuvered [Dawn] into a high-difficulty turn, narrowly avoiding the marine Aberration’s attack.
“Boom!”
The scorching white solar ray once again erupted from Zhu Rong, missing Ji Mingzhu but the massive creatures couldn’t dodge. After being struck head-on they thought the result would be it melting on the spot. But the Aberration’s power exceeded expectations. Despite taking a Titan-level attack, it didn’t die on the spot. Its hard exoskeleton turned charred black under the solar ray’s assault, and the suffering Aberration let out a pained roar before crashing heavily to the ground.
These marine Aberrations were not controlled by Feibo. In fact, even Zhang Bifang’s abilities couldn’t control them. Zhu Rong’s attack had undoubtedly enraged these slumbering monsters in the ocean. In the next moment, a series of roars erupted from the sea, like the long, ancient songs of giant whales, filled with a chilling and terrifying resonance. The deep sea began to churn and heave as one marine giant after another emerged, issuing warnings to the Titans.
But disaster struck in the next moment.
Rumble—
The Sky City, ablaze with intense flames, finally crashed down to the surface!
The impact was comparable to the simultaneous explosion of dozens of nuclear bombs. Even the marine Aberrations in the deep sea didn’t have time to react before the Sky City, like a meteor, crashed violently onto the ocean. Half of the Sky City landed on the sea surface, and for a moment, the world seemed to fall silent before the earth-shattering explosion erupted!
Countless marine giants were instantly turned into meat paste. The impact of the Sky City falling onto the sea didn’t provide any cushioning effect. The height of the fall was almost the same as if it had landed on solid ground. Marine Aberrations, hundreds of meters tall and comparable to Titans, were still insignificant before the Sky City. The steel island fell like a giant hammer from the heavens, killing innumerable marine Aberrations instantly. The sea began to churn and roar, followed by a catastrophic tsunami!
The Sky City’s landing point was miscalculated and didn’t fall on the barren land near the sea but directly into the ocean. No one anticipated this outcome. The next second, it was like a mythical great flood arriving, with monstrous waves crashing over everything!
This was the might of nature, beyond human resistance. [Dawn] had no space to maneuver and was instantly swallowed by the giant waves. The Titans behind also struggled to withstand the deluge, being submerged and battered by the tsunami, their mountain-like bodies collapsing as the waves swept over them, continuing towards Jiusheng City!
[Mecha damage exceeds 60%! Please exit the cockpit! Warning, please exit the cockpit!]Blinding red warnings flashed in the cockpit. Although [Dawn] was an L-class mecha, it was still no match for the tsunami’s force. The impact of an entire city falling from ten thousand meters high onto the sea was far from ordinary. [Dawn]’s body was instantly submerged, with various components suffering damage.
“F*ck…”
Ji Mingzhu’s cockpit had water seeping in. He lost control of [Dawn] and, despite several attempts, couldn’t regain control. Gritting his teeth and cursing under his breath, he had no choice but to eject from the cockpit.
Click—
However, just as he prepared to forcibly eject, the ejection pin made an unusual noise. Ji Mingzhu pulled with all his strength, but the cockpit didn’t detach.
The ejection pin was jammed.
