After Winning The Esports Championship I’m Going To Pilot A Mecha: Chapter 160

160. “I think the intensity could still be a little stronger.”

The frantic wind howled past Ji Mingzhu’s ears as his body became a small black dot in the sky, flying toward the distant Titan Zhu Jiuyin due to Li Li’s powerful throw.

“Li Li!”

Ji Mingzhu shouted into the comms mid-air, regardless of whether she could hear him, “You damn—”

Ji Mingzhu was absolutely certain that Li Li’s claimed 30% success rate was greatly exaggerated. His trajectory was visibly veering away from Zhu Jiuyin, and he was on the verge of missing the Titan entirely.

In the critical moment, You Jia managed to control Zhu Jiuyin to reach out, carefully catching Ji Mingzhu in mid-air. Fortunately, Zhu Jiuyin’s hand was large enough, preventing Ji Mingzhu from plummeting to the ground.

“Got him!”

You Jia sighed in relief, quickly retracting the Titan’s hand and bringing Ji Mingzhu to the cockpit.

Li Li also exhaled, “Good thing I aimed well.”

“Shut up!”

Ji Mingzhu and You Jia yelled almost in unison.

Zhu Jiuyin’s cockpit opened, and after months apart, You Jia finally saw Ji Mingzhu again.

Compared to when they were at Zong Bingyi’s institute, You Jia looked noticeably more mature. He glanced at Ji Mingzhu with a complex expression, biting his lip. “It’s up to you now.”

With that, You Jia strapped on a parachute, standing at the edge of the cockpit, ready to jump.

“Sorry, You Jia.”

Ji Mingzhu’s voice came from behind him, “Will you forgive me?”

You Jia paused, turning to look at him.

Ji Mingzhu had hidden many things from him, and his defection and sudden departure had left You Jia resentful for a long time. He had often blamed Ji Mingzhu for his secrecy, even suspecting ulterior motives in their relationship. But now, seeing Ji Mingzhu again, You Jia realized he didn’t harbor as much resentment as he had imagined.

He pressed his lips together, “If you don’t win, I won’t forgive you.”

With that, You Jia leaped out, deploying his mechanical wings and quickly descending.

Ji Mingzhu chuckled, turning to survey Zhu Jiuyin’s cockpit.

After months apart, he was finally sitting in a Titan again.

On the other side, Li Li’s bright yellow mech had been nearly destroyed by Ju Mang, with various parts and joints scattered all over the place. Seeing Ji Mingzhu finally successfully enter Zhu Jiuyin’s cockpit, she sighed in relief and quickly pulled the emergency escape lever. With a crisp sound, the escape pod carrying the pilot was swiftly ejected.

Boom!

A cold light flashed in Ju Mang’s eyes as it reached out to intercept Li Li’s escape pod, but it was blocked by another Titan, Qiang Liang.

The three Titans from the Calamity Control Bureau and the three Titans from the Netherworld Organization were locked in fierce combat. Their movements sent up splashes of water like rain, and debris and ruins flew everywhere, turning the battlefield into utter chaos.

Even though the Calamity Control Bureau’s Titans fought desperately, they struggled against the unrestrained, beast-like Titans such as Zhu Rong. Soon, Ju Mang overpowered Qiang Liang, pinning it down, while at the same time, Zhu Rong’s cannon began to charge, brewing scorching solar rays.

“Qiang Liang!”

Ru Shou’s Titan pilot shouted, wanting to assist, but was blocked by the golden shield constructed by Di Jiang.

The brightness of Zhu Rong’s solar rays intensified, heating the water beneath to boiling, with steam billowing upward. Qiang Liang’s pilot frantically worked the controls in the cockpit, but it was futile. Despite Qiang Liang’s vigorous struggles, the unrestrained Titan had the upper hand in strength.

Just as Zhu Rong’s solar rays were about to fire, a massive figure burst through the thick steam. With a crisp sound of a blade snapping open, a crimson sword sliced through the air!

Swish—

The cannon barrel of Zhu Rong, brimming with scorching light, was cleanly cut off!

The metal barrel, mixed with bits of blood-red tendrils, fell to the ground, splashing water high into the air. The sudden turn of events visibly stunned Zhu Rong.

All the Titans simultaneously paused and looked toward the source, only to see a colossal figure looming in the rising steam. Its massive body was sleek and sharp, like an invincible celestial warrior, wielding a crimson blade that shattered all obstacles!

“Ji Mingzhu!!”

Li Li, having just climbed out of her escape pod, witnessed this scene. She cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted, “Blast them to pieces!!”

Ji Mingzhu said nothing, offering no response. He sat in the cockpit, his expression as calm as still water, and exhaled softly.

The familiar feeling of becoming one with the Titan returned. The giant Titan felt like an extension of his body, his consciousness merging with the powerful deity-like machine, rendering everything in the world small as dust.

Through satellite images, everyone watched this scene with tense expressions.

Even though Ji Mingzhu stood against Titans of the same level, even though the three Titan pilots from the Calamity Control Bureau had just been powerless before Zhu Rong, the moment Ji Mingzhu piloted Zhu Jiuyin into the fray, everyone believed one thing without doubt.

Ji Mingzhu as a pilot… was invincible!

Buzz—

Zhu Rong, Di Jiang, and Ju Mang assumed defensive stances, emitting faint warning sounds. Suddenly, in a blur, Ji Mingzhu had already driven Zhu Jiuyin right up to them!

No fear, face-to-face, engaging in direct combat!

He began with a high-speed rotational move, utilizing Zhu Jiuyin’s sleek and streamlined body, which was exceptionally suited for close-quarters combat. Indeed, Zhu Jiuyin’s Titan characteristic was close-combat mecha sword fighting. When this Titan was controlled by a pilot adept at mecha swordsmanship, the pressure it generated was nothing short of earth-shattering!

Ju Mang roared first, lunging at Zhu Jiuyin, attempting to knock it off balance with sheer force.

In the cockpit, Ji Mingzhu quickly maneuvered the control stick, and Zhu Jiuyin responded by altering its movement. Just halfway through its high-speed rotation, it performed a miraculous forced pullback, its massive Titan body pausing in the dense steam like a freeze-frame in a movie—

The sight was astounding; no one expected a Titan, with its mountain-like bulk, to execute such precise movements. People instinctively held their breath, fearing that even a sigh might affect Ji Mingzhu far away.

Ju Mang, unable to control its momentum, missed colliding with Zhu Jiuyin, merely grazing past as Ji Mingzhu adjusted the angle.

Clang!!

A massive crimson lightning bolt slashed through!

Like a volcanic eruption or the wrath of thunder descending from the heavens, Zhu Jiuyin’s mech blade struck with incredible speed. Despite the visual impression that such a massive body would move slowly, this slash was beyond human reaction time. Even as Zhu Jiuyin’s blade fell, the retina still retained the trail of the crimson blade, and the steam billowing between heaven and earth scattered with the strike, clearing a path to reveal the clear sky!

Crack—

A terrifying wound appeared on Ju Mang’s chest, the slash running diagonally across its torso. Shards of metal and flesh flew in all directions, followed by a massive steel arm crashing down!

Oh my God… What just happened?!

Those who witnessed this scene could hardly believe their eyes!

Was this an operation that humans could achieve?

But it wasn’t over yet. A red flash shone in Zhu Jiuyin’s eyes as it pulled back the blade and kicked Ju Mang away with a powerful leg! With a series of massive tremors, the one-armed Ju Mang couldn’t maintain its balance, stumbling back and crashing to the ground, smashing several buildings as it fell. Then, Zhu Jiuyin’s blade flashed again!

Spiral Lateral Kill Technique!

The crimson blade plunged directly into the body of the nearby Zhu Rong!

An ultimate technique, an ultimate operation, executed with control that others could only dream of. As Zhu Rong’s earth-shaking roar resounded, people finally snapped out of their daze, watching in awe at the red Titan that loomed amidst the rising steam.

An unstoppable opening, undeniably the strongest!

Even Zuo Quanzong at his peak would have to yield three points to such terrifying piloting skills!

The three pilots of the Calamity Control Bureau’s Titans were stunned, looking at each other, seeing the same emotion in each other’s eyes.

—Crap, are we piloting Titans of the same class?

“Damn it…”

Yao Xiangrong cursed.

Despite all efforts to stop him, Ji Mingzhu had managed to board a Titan. Even Yao Xiangrong hadn’t anticipated Ji Mingzhu being this strong, injuring both Zhu Rong and Ju Mang within mere seconds…

“Can you three hear me?”

While the Calamity Control Bureau’s three Titan pilots were in a daze, Ji Mingzhu’s voice suddenly came through their cockpits.

“Yes… Yes, we can hear you.”

Ru Shou’s pilot, Song Ju, was the first to speak, his tone carrying an unrecognized reverence and admiration. “Mingzhu Ge, what are your orders? We will cooperate fully!”

Initially uncertain, the appearance of Ji Mingzhu filled the three Titan pilots with confidence.

How could they lose now?

However, Ji Mingzhu’s next words left the three pilots dumbfounded.

“I want you to activate the escape pods and evacuate the Titans.”

Song Ju thought he had misheard: “Ge, there’s no need. I’m not injured and can continue fighting!”

“No need.”

Ji Mingzhu said, “Do as I say.”

The three pilots showed signs of hesitation, but the high-level order to “assist Ji Mingzhu” and the shock of Ji Mingzhu’s earlier display of power compelled them to comply.

In the next moment, the light on the chests of the three Calamity Control Bureau Titans, which had just stood up, dimmed. The three escape pods ejected and flew out, leaving the Titans immobilized and unresponsive.

What is he planning?

Except for a few, no one knew what Ji Mingzhu intended to do.

However, the next second, Ji Mingzhu’s actions left everyone gaping in disbelief.

Clang, clang, clang!

With each slash of Zhu Jiuyin’s blade, cracks appeared on the chests of the Calamity Control Bureau Titans, and their cockpits were destroyed in an instant.

“What the f*ck!”

Li Li jumped up immediately, stammering, “He he he… He destroyed the restraints?”

Is he out of his mind?!

In the next moment, the Titans, now free from the restraints, began to move again, slowly lifting their heads.

The number of uncontrollable Titans increased to six, and even Qi Ling hadn’t anticipated this scene, frowning deeply.

Arrogant and reckless, seeking their own doom… Qi Ling couldn’t find the right words to describe Ji Mingzhu. But there was no doubt that Ji Mingzhu’s actions were tipping the scales of victory further in the direction of the Netherworld Organization.

With Qi Ling’s control, Ru Shou and the three Calamity Control Bureau Titans also joined the Netherworld Organization’s ranks, aligning with Zhu Rong and the other Titans.

Seeing this from afar, Zuo Quanzong couldn’t help but sigh.

He knew what Ji Mingzhu intended to do. To use the Titans to shut down the Sky City, he needed to reveal their true capabilities, and destroying the restraints was a necessary step. However, this meant Ji Mingzhu would have to face six Titans simultaneously… Just thinking about it was enough to inspire despair.

“Mingzhu…”

Zuo Quanzong’s voice sounded in Ji Mingzhu’s cockpit: “Can you hold up?”

Titan combat was beyond the capabilities of conventional mechs. Even though Zuo Quanzong had confidence in Ji Mingzhu, he couldn’t hide the deep concern in his tone. After all, even in his younger days, he knew he couldn’t achieve victory under such circumstances.

It was madness.

Inside the cockpit, Ji Mingzhu loosened his gloves and adjusted the complex controls overhead.

The sea beneath continued to churn, and the three Titans, having had their restraints destroyed, gradually revived and joined Zhu Rong and the other Titans. A deep, ominous beastly roar reverberated, like thunder in the sky, bringing an overwhelming sense of pressure.

In truth, Ji Mingzhu was uncertain as well, but he had no choice but to proceed.

He recalled the time when he first became a professional player and was about to step onto the field. Ji Qiming had said to him, “Play the game well, don’t worry about anything else. Even if you fail, I’ll be here.”

How had Ji Mingzhu responded back then?

“I don’t want to always be protected.”

— Something along those lines.

Ji Mingzhu took a deep breath, and in the next moment, the core of Zhu Jiuyin began to spin. The rumbling sound shook the heavens and the earth. The towering figure stood on the sea, partially obscured by the lingering steam, like a mythical deity obscuring the sun with its great power.

In response to Zuo Quanzong’s worried question, Ji Mingzhu answered:

“I think the intensity could still be a little stronger.”
