Cloud Raising Little Zombies

Cloud Raising Little Zombies: Chapter 2

2. So the streamer is playing as the zombie faction.

The moment the roar escaped, the few “people” abruptly stopped.

The tall male “person” at the forefront was just a step away from Ye You.

The male’s body was pitched forward by inertia, his grayish-white, decaying face coming right up to Ye You’s face, “Roar?”

As the male “person” opened his mouth, a foul stench hit Ye You’s face.

    【Ahhhhhh, bullet screen protection system!!!】

    Ye You: “……”

Ye You lifted his leg and kicked the male “person” away.

The decaying zombie face vanished from the screen, and Chi Xin let out a long sigh, her voice trembling, “Although zombies being ugly is normal, there’s no need for it to be this grotesque, right? It came right up to the screen, which was too scary…”

“Eh? Did the streamer just roar… Is the streamer a zombie?!”

With her good psychological resilience from watching various streamers play horror games, Chi Xin looked back at the screen.

She locked eyes with those crimson, pupil-less eyes.

Chi Xin’s fingers trembled slightly as she typed her astonishment in the bullet screen area.

【So the streamer is playing as the zombie faction.】

Given the roar similar to that of zombies, and seeing the streamer’s overly pale skin and crimson, pupil-less eyes, Chi Xin could confirm that the streamer had chosen the zombie faction, not the usual human one.

No wonder those zombies didn’t have health bars; they were all on the same side.

    Hmm… oneself corpse.

However, a post-apocalyptic holographic game where you can choose the zombie faction.

Is this game not afraid of not passing the review?

Chi Xin watched with curiosity as the zombies lined up in front of the young man, their movements surprisingly orderly.

They all bowed their heads in unison, looking so docile it was hard to connect them with the zombies she had encountered in other post-apocalyptic games, who chased her relentlessly.

Is this a level suppression among zombies? Or is it the streamer’s ability?

With great interest, Chi Xin moved her hand slightly on the mouse and added the new streamer to her follow list.

When she looked back at the live page, she suddenly noticed the screen had become bright.

The sky in the game world had brightened.

The streamer’s face, previously hidden in darkness, could only be seen in outline by moonlight, giving off an eerie and otherworldly feel.

Now, with sunlight pouring into the room, the young man’s face became clear.

His skin, almost translucent in its pallor, and his youthful, delicate features had a kind of sickly beauty.

    So young.

The streamer, who seemed to have an imposing aura in the darkness, looked so young in the light.

Is it weird to be so fascinated by a teenage face?

In the live stream, the black-haired, red-eyed young zombie stared at the sunlight streaming into the room with a slightly furrowed brow.

The serious expression was so cute it made people want to pinch his face.

Chi Xin couldn’t help but let tears flow from the corners of her eyes.

As the sun rose, the rose vines on the balcony seemed to come to life.

The warm light that filled the room brought an uncomfortable sensation for the zombies.

The zombies, originally lined up, began to retreat, their backs hitting the wall.

They shuffled towards the doorless doorway but backed away with low growls as soon as they stepped out.

The hallway was also bathed in warm sunlight, and the zombies avoided it as if it were a virus, crowding into the corner of the wall.

Ye You ignored the zombies, his attention entirely focused on the warm light spilling from the side of the table.

    It was an unpleasant sensation.

Ye You walked over to the table and tentatively reached out his left hand.

As his palm touched the sunlight, Ye You felt a burning sensation and the internal decay of his body.

The entity behind the screen mentioned that he and those decayed “people” were in the same faction, and Ye You had already sensed this.

Although he looked different from those called zombies, he knew that someday he would become like them.

Covered in decay spots, emitting a stench, and losing flesh with every movement.

If the corruption level of those zombies is fifty percent, his is only five percent.

The corruption is mainly concentrated on his injured arm, and this level of corruption would continue to deepen.

Ye You previously sensed that the corruption rate was five percent per day, so in ten days he would look like those zombies.

But when his hand came into contact with sunlight, Ye You sensed that the corruption rate of his palm surged from five percent per day to twenty-five percent.

If he continued to expose his hand to the sun, it would become like the zombies’ in just two days.

And it wasn’t just the corruption…

Ye You tried to make a gripping motion.

His hand became very stiff; a simple action took him several seconds to complete.

An invisible pressure pervaded the sunlight.

    【Eh?】

The entity behind the screen seemed to notice the issue as well. Ye You watched the screen, waiting to see what the entity would say next.

【Zai Zai 1, when did you get that injury on your arm?】

“Hmm? Injury?” Ye You looked at his forearm.

Clearly, the entity behind the screen was not focusing on the same point as him.

Also, “Zai Zai” was a strange way to address him.

Ye You lowered his arm and replied, “It’s been there for a long time, not serious.”

A long time—before he had any memory of it.

Not serious—since there was no pain.

    【Feel sorry for Zai Zai.】

    Click—

The sound of a door being opened.

Ye You turned around and saw the zombies that had been huddling in the corner of the wall opening the door to a shaded bedroom and staggering inside.

The last zombie even turned back to roar at him, carrying a tone of invitation and flattery.

Fine, he didn’t like the sun either.

Ye You turned around, intending to enter the room with the zombies when he suddenly caught a glimpse of green out of the corner of his eye.

He turned back with some curiosity, his gaze falling on the glass door of the balcony.

The rose vines on the balcony had somehow climbed onto the glass door, and some parts had even crept into the room.

They were growing at a visible speed.

They climbed onto the dining table, over the sofa, and stretched their branches in the sunlight.

    Do roses grow this fast?

Ye You felt that the scene before him was somewhat abnormal. He took a few steps back, retreating into the shadow where the warm light could not reach.

    “Ahhhhh!!”

A human scream full of extreme fear came from upstairs.

Ye You raised his eyes, noticing several vines retracting upwards.

A human male entangled in vines appeared in Ye You’s field of vision.

The barbed stems dug into the man’s clothes as he was “transported” down from upstairs by the rose vines.

The man struggled in terror, but the rose vines only wrapped tighter, turning him into a green cocoon.

【Wow! Mutant plants! Do they have health bars? Can you fight them?】

Ye You emptied his thoughts, and light flowed in his scarlet eyes.

In that moment, it was as if he floated into the air, overlooking the entire apartment building, with every blade of grass, every tree, every table, and every chair within his sight.

    This was Ye You’s ability.

An instinctive ability that required no learning, as natural as blinking or opening one’s mouth.

Ye You saw the cocoon enveloping the man.

His vision pierced through the vines wrapped around the man, revealing a slow-moving white mist in the man’s mind.

That white mist was similar yet different from the white mist in the zombies’ minds. Ye You tried to delve into the mist, but it suddenly dispersed.

The rose thorns pierced the man’s neck, and he lost all signs of life.

The cocooned man was transported to the courtyard on the first floor, where the entire yard was covered in rose vines and blood-red roses.

The green cocoon was pulled into the flowerbed, beneath the leaves, and into the ground.

The roots of the rose vines penetrated the green cocoon.

They were devouring the man, just as they had devoured other life forms.

The blood-red roses bloomed even more brilliantly.

Among the roots of the rose vines lay numerous skeletons, both human and various animals.

This apartment building was its hunting ground.

At the center of all the bones was a particularly thick root, with a vibrant green crystal radiating life force within it.

The hunger Ye You had been suppressing surged again.

    Hungry, so hungry.

He wanted to eat… that crystal.

    How to eat it?

“Dig it out,” Ye You murmured.

Simultaneously, all the zombies in the apartment seemed to receive some kind of command.

They emerged from the shadows, growling as they headed toward the rose flowers in the courtyard on the first floor.

【Zai Zai, what did you just say?】

Chi Xin only saw Ye You standing there, spacing out for a moment before he suddenly mumbled something she couldn’t quite catch.

Curious, Chi Xin then heard the growls of numerous zombies.

The few zombies that had previously hidden in the bedroom now came out, stepping into the sunlight of the hallway, moving slowly but determinedly downstairs.

    What’s happening?

Chi Xin was nearly bouncing in her seat with curiosity.

Ye You stood there, seemingly spacing out again.

Thankfully, the holographic live stream allowed for adjusting the viewing angle within a certain range around the streamer.

Chi Xin adjusted the camera to the balcony.

She saw the zombies entering the courtyard.

The rose vines entwined around their legs, thorns piercing their flesh, but then suddenly recoiled as if burned.

Chi Xin noticed that the thorns retreating from the rose vines had dissolved.

    Zombie bodily fluids were corrosive.

She seemed to understand what Ye You had just said—he said, “Dig it out.”

    Dig out the mutant rose?

Amid her astonishment, Chi Xin noticed a figure in the corner of the screen.

    It was Ye You.

With somewhat slow movements, he reached out and, with one hand, vaulted over the balcony railing covered in rose vines, bringing several vines wrapped around his legs down with him.

    【?!!!】

Zai! Why did you suddenly do that?!
