ZOMBIE EMPEROR CULTIVATION

8. Transference Ability

Su Zi’an slowly collapsed, his body touching the floor.

He struggled to lift his hand to his waist wound, his expression dazed and bewildered.

Ye You squatted beside Su Zi’an. He looked at the blood-soaked school uniform for a moment and then lifted the hem of Su Zi’an’s shirt.

It was a claw wound.

Deeper than the wound on Ye You’s arm, it had torn through the flesh, injuring blood vessels and organs.

Strangely, despite such a large wound, Su Zi’an’s clothes were completely intact.

“There is a trace of an ability’s residue.”

Ye You stared at Su Zi’an’s bloody wound, puzzled. “But this zombie doesn’t have any abilities, and neither do you.”

“An ability…” Su Zi’an murmured, a fierce light suddenly bursting in his unfocused eyes. He gritted his teeth and said, “It’s Xiao Ren!”

“He was clawed by a zombie and fell to the ground. I went to pull him up. As soon as I touched his arm, I felt like I was clawed on my waist, and a lot of blood flowed… I was in so much pain I couldn’t stand. Xiao Ren got up and ran away. It must be him!”

Su Zi’an was so agitated that he tilted his head and spat out another mouthful of blood.

The fresh blood splattered onto Ye You’s shoe.

Ye You glanced down; the pure black sneakers showed no visible signs of bloodstains.

Ye You, however, felt somewhat bewildered.

He blinked and after a while, asked, “Which one resembles a human ¹?”

【Not ‘which one,’ it’s surname Xiao name Ren, that xiǎo rén ²l!】

【Is Schrödinger’s police station open for business again?】

【I thought those guys were acting strange just now, and indeed, there’s a problem.】

Su Zi’an coughed for a while before regaining his breath, weakly saying, “He’s the smallest of my roommates, the one with freckles on his face. Ge, you’ve seen him before when you picked me up…”

Ye You matched the features Su Zi’an described with the few people he had encountered at the door earlier and quickly identified the person Su Zi’an was referring to.

It was the small, thin boy who had walked past him without lifting his head, the one with cold sweat on his forehead.

An ability user who could transfer his injuries to others.

He wondered what the difference in taste was between a human crystal nucleus and a zombie crystal nucleus.

“I’m going to kill him,” Ye You said, standing up.

Then he thought of something. Looking at Su Zi’an, who was barely breathing, he lightly pressed his lips together and asked, “Do you have any requests on how he should die?”

“No, Ge, he has an ability, don’t go.”

Su Zi’an struggled to raise his hand, grabbing Ye You’s pant leg. “Stay away from him, Ge. I’m already beyond saving, you can’t…cough cough…”

Su Zi’an coughed, his breathing growing weaker. Before he could finish his sentence, his eyelids gradually closed.

Ye You’s gaze shifted from the light screen to Su Zi’an’s face.

He had no memory of this person, but watching Su Zi’an’s breathing nearly stop, he felt something pressing on the part of his chest where the heart would be.

Zombies don’t have pain receptors, their hearts don’t beat, so even if something were pressing on it, he shouldn’t feel anything.

Is it because… this person used to be his family?

Ye You squatted down again and asked, “Do you want to become a zombie?”

The rule of the light screen: no choice means default acceptance.

Ye You lifted Su Zi’an’s limp hand. Lowering his head, he opened his mouth slightly and bit the inside of Su Zi’an’s arm.

Su Zi’an felt a sensation on his arm. He wanted to open his eyes to see, but his eyelids were too heavy to lift.

The sensation blurred, and his consciousness began to fade into darkness.

Vaguely, Su Zi’an felt a burning sensation somewhere in his body.

The burning, as if on fire, spread throughout his entire being.

Ye You raised his hand to wipe away the blood at the corner of his mouth.

While the school was noisy and chaotic, this dormitory building was empty and silent, devoid of both zombies and humans.

Ye You picked up Su Zi’an and, following the scent, walked toward the dormitory room where the “Su Zi’an scent” was the strongest.

【Princess carry! Zai Zai has great arm strength!】

【The streamer is definitely not an ordinary zombie, his physical stats must be enhanced to some extent.】

Soon, a smoky gray crystal nucleus appeared in Ye You’s perception.

The boy named Xiao Ren didn’t leave through the school’s main gate but headed to the small grove next to the sports field.

The grove was adjacent to the school’s wall, and he intended to climb over it to escape.

The school gate was crowded with many students and zombies, but there were only a few zombies near the sports field.

During the day, zombies moved slowly, so Xiao Ren had a high chance of successfully climbing over the wall.

“Roar—”

Ye You let out a low growl, not loud, but his command to the zombies spread throughout the school through his mental power.

One by one, the zombies following the crowd changed direction, slowly heading toward the sports field.

“Do you want him to die?” Ye You asked Su Zi’an, who lay on the bed as if asleep.

“No answer means you agree by default.”

【Zai Zai, even if you asked him if he wanted to be best friends with a villain, he would still agree by default right now.】

【Su Zi’an, once again agreeing by default: ???】

During the day, the zombies moved too slowly, so while Ye You controlled the trees in the grove to obstruct Xiao Ren, he walked to the end of the corridor and leaped off the balcony.

Ye You landed on the ground and got up, heading towards the sports field.

The distance between the dormitory building and the grove by the sports field was too far.

Ye You could only control the trees to make it harder for Xiao Ren to leave, rather than directly stopping or killing him.

Xiao Ren got up from the ground, covered in grass and dirt, bruised and battered.

He breathed heavily, warily scanning the surrounding trees.

These trees seemed to have developed a slight self-awareness and were highly aggressive.

Since entering the grove, he had already been hit several times by unexpectedly swinging branches.

But fortunately, the wall was already in sight. Once he climbed over it, he could leave this hellish place.

“Roar—”

Behind him, the sound of zombies growling and running reached his ears.

Xiao Ren turned around in terror, seeing several zombies running towards him through the grove.

They opened their mouths, with slightly pointed canines and sharp nails on their fingers glinting coldly.

Why were they running so fast?

Before entering the grove, Xiao Ren had seen several zombies moving as slowly as elderly people, unable to catch up with anyone.

But now, their speed was no different from that of ordinary teenagers.

Panic-stricken, Xiao Ren started running.

A branch swung towards him, and Xiao Ren ducked down to avoid it.

The sound of the branch swinging ceased, and just as Xiao Ren got up to run, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his shoulder.

“Ahhhh—” He was tackled to the ground, the stench of decay filling his nose.

The feeling of being bitten was excruciating. Xiao Ren screamed in agony, struggling, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t break free.

One zombie after another pounced on him, and the extreme pain triggered Xiao Ren’s bodily instincts. He suddenly grabbed the zombie on top of him.

The blood hole on Xiao Ren’s shoulder healed in the blink of an eye, while the same wound appeared on the zombie’s shoulder.

On his legs, arms… wounds rapidly healed one after another, while corresponding parts of the zombie’s body showed bloody holes from bites.

But it was useless. The zombies seemed oblivious to pain. Even when Xiao Ren’s skin healed, the zombies would bite down again.

Xiao Ren transferred his wounds to the zombie’s body repeatedly. Suddenly, he saw a boy in a white shirt standing nearby.

“Help me! Help me!” Xiao Ren shouted in a trembling voice.

He didn’t stop to think about why someone would run into a horde of zombies. After all, there were always kind-hearted people in the world, like Su Zi’an.

Xiao Ren shouted several times, but the person didn’t move.

The boy watched him being bitten by zombies, completely indifferent, like a spectator at a farce.

“F*ck You @#￥%&…” Xiao Ren cursed in fury.

After cursing, he winced in pain. He vaguely saw the scratches on the boy’s arm, and as if finding some hope, he shouted:

“I have powers! If you save me, I can heal you!”

The boy still didn’t move.

Xiao Ren couldn’t understand why the zombies only bit him and ignored the person next to him.

Xiao Ren’s resentful gaze fell on the boy’s face, and his cursing stopped abruptly.

That’s… Su Zi’an’s brother?!

“Su Zi’an said he wanted you dead,” Ye You said calmly.

【Su Zi’an: It wasn’t me, I didn’t say that. But still, xiǎo rén ³, don’t waste your precious breath.】

【Actually, you could have him heal Zai Zai first, then send him to his doom.】

【Not necessarily. Didn’t the streamer gain abilities after eating the crystal nucleus? Let’s see what color Xiao Ren’s crystal nucleus is.】
