The battle inside the arena moved at a breakneck pace. The moment Qi Sicheng disappeared from the flag point, Huo Yan, unimpeded, immediately took Qi Sicheng’s position. He stood on the flag point and raised his Counter-Damage Shield to block Gale’s Artillery’s attack from above.

Gale’s Artillery mecha in the front-left cursed aloud as they failed to stop KID’s Tank in time: “F*ck!!!”

The entirety of Gale’s coaching team stood up. They were all too familiar with this weapon, and because they were so familiar with it, they had been on guard for it. Yet, they hadn’t expected KID to hide it until now and give the anomalous crystal to Sink. “It’s the space displacement anomalous crystal from that mantis pollutant in Coria!” Gale’s head coach exclaimed. “Sink managed to keep this weapon hidden until now, waiting for the perfect opportunity near the flag point! KID is so good at hiding things! They’ve kept this weapon under wraps for all seven days of the competition!”

During the tsunami explosion, Sink didn’t use it. Even when they were blocked by the hurricane, Sink didn’t use it. He waited until this critical moment, using the combined efforts of all his teammates to unleash this weapon at the last second.

Meanwhile, in another part of the battlefield, farthest from the circle of combat, a sudden burst of red light appeared in front of Lin Yao and Zhao Lejie. KID’s Medical mecha, Sink, and Gale’s Control mecha, Qi Sicheng, reappeared outside of Lin Yao’s space.

Using Lin Yao’s spatial cover, he effectively prevented Qi Sicheng from getting back.

“What the hell?!” Zhao Lejie looked up and saw the two mechas above him. “Boss!?”

Gale’s Artillery mecha shouted, “Captain Qi, there are two KID mechas at the flag point!”

Qi Sicheng fired a few shots with his Heavenly Thunder Cannon, breaking through Lin Yao’s spatial cover. “Damn it.”

Lin Yao was prepared; as soon as Qi Sicheng shattered the space, he rushed forward to engage Zhao Lejie in close combat.

Outside the main battlefield, the fight instantly turned into a 2v2. Ying Chenlin’s cannon was always aimed at Qi Sicheng, with a simple goal—keeping Qi Sicheng away from the battlefield.

Noticing Gale’s mecha movements, Ying Chenlin suspected that Qi Sicheng had already figured out the weapon’s purpose. For Gale, this weapon was too familiar, and they had likely been guarding against it for a while.

The female mantis’ ability was spatial displacement, capable of moving all living beings or energy-reactive objects within a certain range. The spatial range was controllable, but the displacement distance couldn’t match the female mantis’ original maximum range.

When designing the weapon, Ying Chenlin realized that if it were used solely as a displacement tool, the activation time and distance would be somewhat reduced. Considering its functionality and immediacy, he abandoned slow, free-form displacement in favor of a fast, targeted displacement.

The target was a teammate, allowing for controlled, high-speed displacement. By sacrificing the free-form function, this weapon could recharge in just five minutes, faster than other spatial displacement weapons recorded in the Alliance.

To deal with Gale, a surprise attack was necessary, but this wasn’t the end.

Ying Chenlin shifted from his position. His only weapon was the Energy Cannon, in order to forcibly hold back Qi Sicheng, who wielded dual-control weapons, he had to rely entirely on firepower suppression. He had to not just suppress but pin Qi Sicheng down.

The situation on the field had drastically changed. With Qi Sicheng dragged away, KID’s Tank had seized the best defensive position on the flag point. Taking advantage of this, KID’s Control mecha, Lucy, rushed in from the side and directly entered Huo Yan’s Counter-Damage Shield’s protective range.

Huo Yan was covering Lu Xi as she stole the flag point, KID was already prepared.

Two mechas appeared in front of Qi Sicheng: KID’s Medical and Guardian mechas, blocking their path.

Zhao Lejie exclaimed, “What’s the point of hiding this weapon?! With spatial displacement, they should’ve been able to capture the point earlier!”

Qi Sicheng had been wary of KID’s displacement weapon all along, but he didn’t expect its activation time to be so brief. It was even faster than the spatial displacement of the female mantis they had tested back in Coria… which is why he didn’t escape from the space Ying Chenlin created in time.

“Spatial displacement has its drawbacks. The recharge time for this sort of weapon is long, and the interval between its uses is also extended… And did you notice? He immediately switched to the Sniper Cannon to deal with the long-range Artillery mecha, while Lu Xi used the vortex created by her Enhancement Cannon under the cover of the Counter-Damage Shield to repel the approaching Gale Stealth and Medical mechas trying to capture the point.

Both sides had three mechas, but the disadvantage in mecha matchups was stark.

KID had an Artillery, Control, and Tank, while Gale had an Artillery, Stealth and Medical. Under KID’s dual suppression, Gale’s Artillery couldn’t even reach their Tank, and their Stealth and Medical mechas couldn’t get close due to the vortex created by Lucy’s Enhancement Cannon. KID’s Tank only needed to maintain the Counter Damage Shield and proceed with the flag point capture process. As long as Gale couldn’t push him out of the flag point’s range, they couldn’t interrupt his capture.

Gale was short one assault mecha and one Tank.

Their assault mecha, their Guardian, was taken out by Qingf, and their Tank mecha was now being blocked even farther away.

“This is too difficult. If Gale’s Guardian were still here, they wouldn’t be in such a dilemma now,” the live broadcast commentator said. “Gale can’t break through KID’s protective circle!”

Gale’s head coach finally understood KID’s true objective. From start to finish, KID’s goal was to capture the point. They used Trace as a distraction, drawing the attention of multiple mechas, while Qingfeng engaged their Guardian, pulling everyone’s focus to the front line. Their real aim was to bring their Tank close to the flag point and, under the cover of the Tank’s shield, activate that weapon… But it didn’t stop there—KID even factored in their Guardian.

This was a meticulously planned strategy, but it was hidden behind layers of misdirection. While everyone thought KID was still trying to divert attention, KID’s actual plan had already reached the next stage.

Given Qi Sicheng’s sharp reflexes, if they failed to take down the enemy in one strike, Gale, being well-trained, would have anticipated and countered their weapon’s use.

Trace distracting of three mechas was to create an opportunity to take down their Guardian.

Qingfeng taking out their Guardian was to cut off Gale’s chance at rushing to the point.

Only under these conditions could Sink dare to use that weapon, because both the Energy Cannon used for Trace’s distraction and Sink’s displacement weapon could only be effective if used once.

“KID’s commander is taking a big gamble,” said Gale’s head coach. “But it’s not like we don’t have a chance. Captain Qi will make it back.”

The battle between the red-and-white mechas and the blue mechas continued fiercely. As the fight for the flag point erupted, Gale’s Tank and Control mechas on the outskirts were trying to return to the flag point.

When Qi Sicheng’s Heavenly Thunder Cannon fired, Lin Yao decisively used his Spatial Staff to create a protective space for their side. Although Qi Sicheng’s Heavenly Thunder Cannon blasted several holes in the spatial barrier, it didn’t stop KID’s two mechas from moving. Ying Chenlin and Lin Yao kept maneuvering around it. Their mechas were somewhat affected by the lightning attacks spreading across the water, but they continued attacking despite the wear and tear.

Ying Chenlin freely launched strikes from the cover of the spatial barrier, his Energy Cannon continuously charging and firing shot after shot at Qi Sicheng, forcing Zhao Lejie to raise a shield to protect him.

After 10 minutes of this intense exchange of fire, a flaw finally appeared. While KID had the upper hand at the flag point, Sink and Yao weren’t gaining an advantage against Gale’s Zhao Lejie and Qi Sicheng.

On Gale’s side, they had both offense and control, with their Tank providing a shield and immunity to control.

On KID’s side, their Medical mecha had limited firepower, and their Guardian couldn’t close in.

“The battle on the field is incredibly intense,” the live stream commentator said, switching between views. “But Gale is proving to be more resilient than KID anticipated. At this rate, it’s a race against time to see whether KID captures the flag point first or Gale’s team makes it back.”

Sink knew all along that he and Yao couldn’t suppress Qi Sicheng and Zhao Lejie with just their weapons and mechas—their disadvantages were too difficult to overcome. So every move he made was calculated. He used Yao’s short-range suppression and his own long-range artillery fire to force Qi Sicheng under Zhao Lejie’s shield. Once the two mechas got close, as long as they entered Trace’s sniper range, they could switch targets and achieve maximum effect.

Qi Sicheng’s gaze sharpened as he looked at the freely moving Medical mecha in the water. “…He’s too smart.”

Without coordination, taking a single path, Yao alone could block Zhao Lejie with the Spatial Staff, and Sink’s solo combat ability was too strong for Qi Sicheng’s Heavenly Thunder Cannon to control. Changing targets? No, it was too late to switch. If they changed targets, KID would also switch.

At that moment, KID’s Tank, Yan, captured the flag point amidst the team’s race against time. The control over the entire flag point fell to KID, and this underdog team managed to capture the flag point from the defensively strong Gale.
