Genius Mechanic: Chapter 201

Slared Contaminated Zone(Star Alliance Mission)

201. The 2 Mechas Counterattack

Proofread by Cloud Chip Cake and An Zheee

News of the arrival of the SLY’s 6 mechas was immediately displayed on the Star Alliance System’s radar. The members of Dawn stared at the information hovering on the radar.

The entire space was silent; they watched the radar signals of the few mechas that had stopped moving, and everyone’s hearts were in their throats.

Zhang Ge’s voice broke the silence in the room, “They’ve stopped.”

“Have they been discovered?” Jiang Simiao asked nervously.

Shen Xingtang replied, “They’re in the same positions, but their coordinates haven’t disappeared.”

The same information reached the eyes of various strong teams monitoring the radar. Everyone turned their attention to SLY’s movements.

“SLY has already gone over.”

“The radar coordinates haven’t changed, SLY’s coordinates haven’t disappeared, and KID’s coordinates haven’t appeared.”

“Could it be that we misunderstood? Is there no special pollutant in that area?”

“If there wasn’t anything, SLY wouldn’t stay there for so long.”

Among the Gaia logistics team, Gaia’s coach couldn’t help but sneer at the situation. Having been tricked by KID once, he had no sympathy for this team. A small galaxy daring to stand out multiple times, in a mission where so many strong teams within the Star Alliance gathered, wasn’t a good thing.

“No matter what tricks they play, SLY has gone over, and we can sit back and enjoy the show.”

While everyone was watching, no one wanted to provoke SLY at this moment; their state was more-like one of watching the drama unfold.

In the vast white snowfield, visual blind spots were stretched to the extreme, and sounds were minimized to the utmost.

The Shadow Fox’s clones had already reached over a dozen, simultaneously attacking the Artillery mecha from all directions. The fox darted through the shadows, but when it was about to collide with the mecha in front of it, it was once again blasted away by an Energy Cannon shot at close range.

The red and white Artillery mecha stood out starkly against the snowy backdrop, its entire body fixed at a certain point, without excessive movement, yet calmly waiting for the Shadow Fox’s repeated attacks.

The Shadow Fox’s fangs opened and closed, their clicking sound was diminished by the special environment, but the saliva dripping from the fangs had already left dark stains on the snow. It had hunted so many prey, but this was the first time it had encountered such a troublesome target. No matter how many times it changed positions, that damned red thing could always find its location.

There was other prey around, but the Shadow Fox’s gaze was tightly drawn to the mecha in front of it.

It loved the scent emitted by this red thing more than any other prey.

“Wow, this thing has great perseverance!” Theo reluctantly praised the pollutant, “It didn’t run away and is still here testing us?!”

In the cockpit, the man remained silent, his immense mental power filling the entire mecha.

This unrestrained mental power floated above the mecha’s shared sensory nerves, and the S-Level mental power, under his control, emitted a deadly allure, prompting the fox hiding in the shadows to take a tentative step forward.

After all, pollutants were still animals, and their self-righteous intelligence, in the eyes of humans, resembled easily influenced children.

Children still knew how to cry in pain, while beasts only charged forward while drooling.

The Shadow Fox had just charged a few steps towards the Artillery mecha when its claws made a faint sound on the snow, which fell into the man’s ears. An Energy Cannon shot was immediately hurled in its direction, blasting it out of the pile of shadows and onto the ground.

You Su remained indifferent. When the Shadow Fox fell to the ground and did not move, his Energy Cannon followed up, striking the fox repeatedly, causing it to howl in pain, and in the next moment it summoned its shadow to pounce on You Su.

The artillery fire scattered the shadow again, and You Su locked onto the fox that was constantly moving in the distance. His gaze found a pattern among those jumping shadows; the fox probably hadn’t realized that every time it changed shadows, it would land.

Having discerned this pollutant’s movement pattern, You Su saw no need to continue dragging it out.

He switched the Energy Cannon to the more lethal Sniper Cannon, preparing to eliminate this pollutant to assist Ying Chenlin.

Just then, a special shell broke through the space above the red and white Artillery mecha. As the shell was about to hit the Artillery mecha, it executed a brief slide in the snow, instantly increasing the distance from the shell’s landing position.

It wasn’t over; after one shell fell, more shells began to rain down from above the snowy curtain.

You Su immediately reacted, dodging sharply to the side. Diagonally in front of his original position, a shell struck, creating a crater.

Theo looked up, his voice excited, “You Su! It seems like there’s an airstrike!”

You Su coldly raised his head. Amid the white snow curtain, he couldn’t hear any sounds or see the situation above; he only spoke coldly upon seeing the falling shells, “Looks like some rats have followed us.”

High above, SLY’s floating mechas were still observing the peculiar white area below. From the sky, it appeared like an ordinary snowy field—no movement, no sound, no radar activity. It was a place they’d normally fly over without stopping.

After receiving the intelligence, they rushed to this location and encountered this eerie area first.

From a distance, it looked unremarkable, but a closer inspection revealed it was shrouded in thick, heavy ice fog, which distorted the magnetic field and impaired mecha performance. This fog created a blanket over the snowy plain, engulfing everything within, and cutting off vision and sound.

After a few artillery strikes from SLY, the other SLY mecha pilots quickly summarized the intel on this area.

“The magnetic field is abnormal, its coverage height reaches about 100-150 meters, and it’s hard to approach.”

“The pollutant detection system is malfunctioning, we’re unable to detect pollutants within the area.”

“Visibility decreases upon entering the area, and radar signals become fuzzy.”

“The situation below is uncertain, Captain, should we probe further down?”

SLY’s captain, Alice, was still watching the changes on the visual screen. Her keen eyes caught something, “There are mechas below.”

“Artillery, increase the Energy Cannon’s output, activate its ability.” Alice’s tone carried a hint of excitement as her fingertip pointed at a certain location, “Here, fire a few more shots.”

At the same time, Ying Chenlin, who was battling the unknown roots, also looked up.

The high-altitude ice fog blocked both wind and sound. The shells only made noise when they were very close, leaving little time to predict them. Ying Chenlin held onto the roots with one hand, not letting go. As unknown shells rained down from above, he dodged through the gaps they created, stabilizing the mecha’s balance amidst the explosive winds.

When the shells hit the ground, they created a strange spiral storm, pulling all the surrounding ice fog together, and causing visibility to drop again.

Ying Chenlin barely avoided the Energy Cannon’s attack, his gaze lingering on the crater created by the shells. His brain quickly organized and analyzed the corresponding weapon specs: An Energy Cannon, with a Wind Spiral ability, and an energy output threshold between 10%-20%.

This wasn’t an Energy Cannon carried by his teammate; someone was firing from above, probing their positions.

As the ice fog was swept away, it gathered again. In the brief moment when the white fog dispersed, Ying Chenlin caught sight of the Artillery mecha not far away. You Su hadn’t moved too far; instead, he remained at their original separation point.

You Su’s gaze swept to Ying Chenlin in the distance, who was still holding onto the pollutant’s roots. At his original position, there was already a deep pit created by the explosion. Plant-based pollutants were difficult to handle, especially since the main body of this pollutant was still beneath the snowfield. Without diving deeper, it was hard to detect this pollutant’s true form.

You Su dodged the fox and asked, “Can you handle it?”

Ying Chenlin knew he was asking about the pollutant. “I just tried; its roots are very deep, probably needing to sink a hundred meters down.”

A pollutant with such deep roots and such a wide ranged ice fog magnetic field… Ying Chenlin had seen many pollutants, and although the Shadow Fox’s abilities were outstanding, given the current situation, the magnetic field was likely unrelated to it. They had traveled from the position where they were blown to, to here, a distance of at least a hundred meters. Calculating the positions of their other teammates who were blown away, and assuming the large pit where Zhao Lejie and the others were located was the center, the diameter of the spread would exceed 200 meters.

Animal-based pollutants couldn’t cause such a wide-range effect; the only remaining possibility was the plant-based pollutant.

Ying Chenlin had just tested several of its roots, probing the direction of their extension. Whether it had a taproot or fibrous root system, the direction in which such pollutants grow wouldn’t be completely vertical; part of the roots had to grow horizontally along the ground.

However, he discovered that all the roots emerged from underground, indicating that this pollutant’s main body, which caused the large-scale magnetic anomaly, wasn’t on the surface but much deeper underground.

Ying Chenlin and You Su had been fighting here for a while, yet they still hadn’t seen Huo Yan and the others.

Either they had miscalculated the direction of the large pollutant pit, or Huo Yan and the others had been dragged into the ground by this special pollutant.

He struggled to hold onto the pollutant’s roots; its pull was strong, and he could only use the thruster to counteract the drag, not daring to relax.

This pollutant needed time to deal with, and now, in the unseen heights above them, other mechas were watching closely.

“But it seems we can’t deal with it first.” Ying Chenlin’s gaze paused slightly, coldly looking up, “We need to deal with other things first.”

The two hadn’t continued with their conversation when the Energy Cannon shots from above fell again. Ying Chenlin quickly dodged, noticing that the swirling effect produced by this wind spiral was more pronounced; the person probing from above had increased the Energy Cannon’s output threshold.

Probing was probing, but these Energy Cannon attacks weren’t locked on them, indicating that the person above couldn’t see where they were and could only use Energy Cannon fire to find their positions.

However, these chaotic Energy Cannon shots were used very skillfully; the one firing was an experienced mecha pilot. Each shell seemed to be calculated precisely for their positioning, firing blindly while using the shells to force them to move.

The newcomers weren’t ordinary mecha pilots; their team was highly skilled.

The attacks from the high-altitude shells greatly affected the two who were battling pollutants. You Su dodged a few steps away from the Energy Cannon fire, and at that moment, the fox seized the opportunity to approach You Su again. This time, the fox’s attack was closer, only half a meter away from You Su.

But the Artillery mecha pilot’s reaction was faster than the fox’s. Just as it was about to grab the mecha, the Artillery mecha turned sharply and fired the Sniper Cannon at it, forcefully knocking the fox away. During the interval as the fox was knocked away, another shot was fired, increasing the distance with the fox again.

“Wow, these shells are so annoying. Don’t they know we’re clearing pollutants? Why are they still making noise?” Theo complained, “Booming, I can’t even hear the fox’s footsteps!”

You Su replied, “They can’t see us, so they can only use Energy Cannon shots to probe.”

At that moment, another Wind Spiral Shell exploded beside Ying Chenlin. He quickly dodged with distance and saw a small piece of equipment appear in the crater created by the Wind Spiral Shell. Before he could see what the equipment was, in the next second, it suddenly activated, spinning rapidly like a whirlwind, using the Energy Cannon’s wind spiral to suck in a large amount of ice fog.

“Not good!” Ying Chenlin said coldly, “The Energy Cannon shot brought something down!”

The whirlwind-like equipment quickly absorbed a large amount of ice fog, and the center of the device seemed to glow with a certain eye. The moment Ying Chenlin saw that eye, the Energy Cannon in his hand immediately locked onto the position of the whirlwind and fired fiercely, destroying it.

At the same time as he destroyed the whirlwind, the high-altitude Artillery mecha seemed to have locked onto his position, and another Energy Cannon shot fell from above.

Ying Chenlin narrowly avoided the shell, quickly twisting the roots in his hand around the mecha’s arm, retreating a few steps while sticking close to the snow. His visual screen was a chaotic mess, but his calm mind was thinking freely in this extreme environment. Were they judging his position based on the whirlwind?

They can’t see? How much visibility do they have? What about height and shooting distance?

The high-altitude shells fell again, and Ying Chenlin continued to avoid the attacks from above by pulling on the roots, but the Artillery mecha up-above was very clever, dropping one wind spiral after another from above, instantly stirring the surrounding white fog. He pulled the roots to move to the side and suddenly caught a glimpse of something, quickly dodging and making some distance.

Diagonally in front, there was a mountain. Thanks to a certain whirlwind, Ying Chenlin barely saw the situation thirty meters away.

Their original large pit was on the snowfield, and the slanted side of the snowfield had a mountain, meaning they had actually deviated nearly a hundred meters from the direction of the original large pit.

While moving, You Su noticed the changes in the white fog and vaguely saw the mountains and the mechas above.

But this change was only for a moment; the thick fog quickly gathered again. He confirmed, “Ying Chenlin, there are no less than four mechas above.”

Theo said, “You Su! The fox’s speed has slowed down!”

You Su frowned slightly and shot again at the fox trying to approach using the shadows.

Ying Chenlin, using the position of the mountain, roughly judged the location of the original large pit. In the blink of an eye, he saw several shells heading towards You Su.

The Artillery mecha moved quickly within the range of the thick fog, soon dodging the attack.

Ying Chenlin pondered for a moment; it seemed that the shells from above had been targeting You Su more since the beginning. Just as he was thinking, he saw You Su had once again knocked the fox down to the ground, and the surrounding shadows instantly dissipated, but soon gathered again.

Mechas could easily dodge pollutants, but the Shadow Fox’s reaction wasn’t as fast as the two mechas, and it had taken so much damage from the Artillery above.

But it was clever; even so, it didn’t fully withdraw its shadows, as if it was constantly looking for an opportunity to escape.

The Shadow Fox wanted to take advantage of the chaos to flee, but You Su wouldn’t give it that chance. As it moved to the left, You Su quickly grabbed the tail of the fleeing fox with one hand, yanking the entire pollutant back.

As You Su’s Sniper Cannon aimed at the fox, Ying Chenlin suddenly spoke, “You Ge, don’t kill that fox.”

Hearing his voice, You Su looked back and found the Medical mecha’s thrusters pushed to the max, with several corpses of snow wolves and even a few special stones lying in the pit he had temporarily blasted open.

These ores were familiar to You Su; they were the hard stones they had dug up in Kemu Cave, very tough and difficult to destroy.

He hadn’t expected Ying Chenlin to bring some of these stones this time.

Seeing Ying Chenlin using those stones to disperse the pulling force of the roots, You Su asked, “What are you trying to do?”

“Zhao Lejie isn’t here; we can only dig a path.”

Ying Chenlin looked up at the high fog, his eyes cold as he grabbed another root that had emerged from the ground, quickly moving towards the mountain, “We can’t kill the fox either; we need to lure the people above us down.”

Around the Snowy Mountains, more and more mechas were arriving, and they all stopped at a distance outside SLY’s shooting range. They used their scopes to look at the empty snowfield in the distance, and upon seeing SLY’s movements, they basically confirmed SLY’s intentions.

Above the white fog, continuous shells rained down from above, and all the artillery fire was submerged in the ice fog, not revealing even a single trace. The woman’s gaze remained fixed on the white fog, and after certain instruments fell from above, the fog that was swept away by the wind spiral was absorbed by specially manufactured fog absorbers, gradually thinning the dense fog.

At this moment, the SLY mechas saw faint outlines of the mechas hidden within the fog.

Those figures changed speed rapidly, and they could vaguely see the mechas, along with other indistinct shadows.

Alice raised an eyebrow, “So they are indeed down there.”

“It seems there’s more than one; possibly all their mechas are below,” another mecha pilot said.

Alice said, “How many fog absorbers do we have left?”

The mecha pilot replied, “We brought 25, and we can still use them.”

Alice said, “Then force them out and see what’s down there.”

Upon hearing this, the SLY mecha pilots understood their captain’s intentions.

They weren’t here for KID, this small team, but to uncover the unknown information that might be hidden behind the disappearance of their coordinates.

There were three unknown point tasks in the Star Alliance System; besides the Volcano and Forest, the Snowy Mountains region was the last one. If the intel was correct, there was likely something special in the Slared Contaminated Zone, which could be found in these three areas.

“All missions over 30 points in the Snowy Mountains region have been checked, and there are no S-Level pollutants with chaotic magnetic field abilities.”

“There are none?” Alice shifted her attention from the white fog, hearing her teammate’s statement while also seeing the information shared in the system. The reports of S-Level pollutants were very clear; for the Star Alliance’s Special Mission, all detectable S-Level pollutants had already been included in the mission list.

Not finding any task information related to the ‘white fog magnetic field’ anomaly meant only one possibility: this was a pollutant that had not been registered in the mission system.

The sudden appearance of a pollutant not registered in the mission system might involve the secrets behind that area.

Alice’s interest in the Snowy Mountains region heightened, “Has E.M arrived?”

The mecha pilot replied, “They should have received the news, but currently, only PJT and GBK are approaching us.”

“They need time to get here.”

Alice said, “Then let’s not waste time; let’s resolve this fog before they arrive.”

Before she finished speaking, she suddenly caught sight of something, and her body instinctively operated the mecha to quickly retreat.

A Sniper Cannon shot from within the fog fired towards them, instantly disrupting the floating formation of SLY. Just as Alice stabilized her flight, the Artillery fired again in their direction.

“What’s going on?!”

“They’re counterattacking?”

The counterattack from the Sniper Cannon in the ice fog came too quickly; the SLY members scattered, but before they could spread out for even a second, several more shells from another direction fired towards them. SLY fired at the few moving shadows below, but those shadows changed too quickly.

In SLY’s team, although the Artillery and Control mechas weren’t primary members, they had been on missions with SLY before.

They were unsure if they had hit the mechas below, but the mechas below accurately predicted their positions.

As SLY closed the distance and fired at the moving shadows again, shells suddenly roared in from the side, as if the opponent had predicted their movement trajectory. Being above, they were judged based on their directional changes; flying under the gravity here was already difficult, and with such firepower affecting them, they would only be impacted further.

This place was the Snowy Mountains region, where flying was challenging under the influence of gravity. Generally, mechas would try to minimize movement attacks.

Alice blinked in surprise, her peripheral vision sweeping over the remaining wind spirals below. The KID mechas below were actually using the positions of their wind spirals to probe their positions from above, “They’re calculating us.”

The attacks in the ice fog continued. From below, the mechas could calculate the distance of the mechas attacking from above based on the positions of their shells, the time, speed, and direction of the shells were all reference factors.

SLY’s Artillery frowned; that small team below wasn’t bad, actually calculating the trajectory of the shells to counterattack. “What do you say, Captain?”

Their wind spirals had all been dismantled, and if this continued, they would be at a disadvantage.

“If they’ve guessed our moves, then let’s go down and fight them.” Alice looked at the few shadows below with interest, “Take the wind spirals down and see which mecha is calculating us.”

Two close-combat mechas from SLY, upon hearing this, flew down from the Artillery mecha’s side, carrying several signal enhancers and wind spirals, quickly disappearing into the fog. The wind spirals they carried absorbed a large amount of fog as soon as they entered.

They quickly moved towards the shadows, tossing the wind spirals ahead, expecting to see the enemy mechas, but suddenly they saw a fox pollutant.

The Tank’s expression changed slightly, “It’s not a mecha.”

At the same time, the nearby wind spiral absorbed a large amount of fog, and the descending SLY mechas finally saw the situation below, also spotting the moving pollutants in the fog, along with a red and white mecha.

Alice said, “Huh? There’s only one mecha?”

After such a comprehensive attack, there was only one mecha?

“Are there a lot of pollutants?”

“Was that shadow just now a pollutant?”

“No, there should be more than one; there are other mechas around.”

An Energy Cannon shot suddenly passed by Alice’s side. She instinctively dodged, clearly not hit, but in that moment, she felt like she was being targeted by a hunter.

Before they could confirm clearly, the red and white Artillery mecha suddenly fired an Energy Cannon shot upwards towards them. As Alice dodged, she looked down and suddenly saw a cannon aimed at her.

At that moment, the cannon of that mecha was particularly clear under the influence of the wind spiral. The next moment, the firelight condensed at the cannon’s mouth and surged towards Alice. This Energy Cannon was fast and fierce; Alice barely managed to dodge it, missing by less than half a meter.

“This Energy Cannon!?” A nearby mecha pilot was surprised; this was the first time they had seen someone who was able to predict Alice’s evasive movements, especially in such an environment!?

Alice’s interest was piqued, her eyes sparkling with the thrill of facing a worthy opponent.

The SLY mechas no longer hesitated; without the captain’s orders, they also locked onto the fox pollutant and the red and white Artillery mecha.

Confirming that the shadow was a pollutant, they no longer needed to be overly cautious. They quickly resolved to eliminate this mecha and then check the surroundings.

However, SLY’s Tank, after taking a few hits from Energy Cannon shots, suddenly realized the situation of the mecha in front of him, “Wait?! This isn’t an Artillery mecha!? This is KID’s Medical mecha; I remember its ID is Sink!?”

But his voice communication channel received no response; his communication had failed, and he could not communicate with his teammates.

As SLY’s mechas entered the white fog, Ying Chenlin squinted slightly at the heights, suddenly retreating.

At the same time, SLY’s Tank mecha noticed something unusual. He suddenly saw that the red and white mecha was holding onto a pollutant that resembled the surrounding foxes.

Before he could see what that pollutant was, he noticed something being thrown to the ground by the Medical mecha.

SLY’s Tank paused, suddenly noticing the uneven color of the snow beneath his feet; it hadn’t been like this just now. What was it?

Ying Chenlin released his thrusters, and the immense pulling force dragged him and the Shadow Fox backwards quickly. Seeing this, SLY’s Tank mecha threw out a weapon resembling a sickle, trying to hold onto the opponent, but suddenly saw that beneath where KID’s Medical mecha had been, there was something resembling an energy tube half-buried in the snow.

At the same time, the Medical mecha fired an Energy Cannon shot in SLY’s Tank’s direction. SLY’s Tank quickly dodged the attack, and at that moment, he suddenly realized that this Energy Cannon wasn’t aimed at him but at the ground.

The Energy Cannon ignited something upon hitting the ground, and suddenly flames erupted from the snow, rapidly exploding and spreading through the fog. All SLY mechas that entered the fog were caught off guard, realizing what was on the ground only when the flames reached within five meters of them.

Ying Chenlin tore open another energy tube, the ruptured energy fluid dripping onto the snow.

He had been waiting for this group of mechas to enter the ice fog area; the high-altitude Artillery attacks would mistakenly hit the energy tubes. The only way was to lure SLY’s mechas into the ice fog area, where the Artillery’s attacks would converge and avoid mistakenly hitting their teammates, allowing for the arrangement of the energy tubes.

SLY’s Tank raised its shield for defense, while the other scattered mechas weren’t so fortunate; the exploding snow continued to roar, erupting with flames more intense than the Artillery’s attacks.

“There’s something on the ground!?”

“When did this happen???”

High above, Alice, who had flown closer, paused slightly, also noticing the situation below. Her fingertips tapped on the weapon control panel, watching the faint flames in the white ice fog. Their shells hadn’t caused any commotion, yet this small galaxy had triggered such a large-scale explosion.

“He’s setting a trap for us,” Alice said excitedly, “This is interesting; he knows that if they hide, we’ll be more vigilant, so he’s boldly attacking us, tempting us to come down and fight.”

This team is called KID? It seems to be called KID.

What weapon could cause such a large-scale explosion? Their Artillery’s weapon? Or something from another mecha?

The strong teams near the Snowy Mountains also detected the commotion, their expressions slightly changing as they looked at SLY. What was going on?!

“The ground seems to be shaking?”

“I didn’t hear any sound, but the mountain over there is indeed shaking.”

“Did SLY get into a fight with someone?”

“No way? Such a big commotion?”

“This small galaxy is quite interesting; they even have the guts to fight SLY.”

A certain strong team sneered at the situation, “SLY is one of the top four teams in the Star Alliance; this small Galaxy can’t possibly think that dragging them into the magnetic field will be outsmarting SLY, right? Even if their elite team aren’t their primary mecha pilots, their captain, Alice, is still watching.”

Within the white fog, SLY realized the problem. They didn’t lose control due to the flames from the explosion; their strong combat quality allowed them to react quickly, noticing that the ground had exploded and quickly hovering to avoid contact with the ground. However, the flames from the explosion stirred up a large amount of ice fog, and the wind spirals they carried couldn’t restore visibility to the maximum.

The communication system failed, but SLY could still operate in perfect coordination without it. Several mechas carried fog absorbers, barely stabilizing their forms in the airflow generated by the explosion. They had tested this white fog’s magnetic field; once inside, their instruments would malfunction, but as long as they flew out to a height of 200 meters, they could escape the influence of this magnetic field.

SLY’s Tank expanded its protective shield in the fog, and their surrounding teammates noticed his movement, quickly positioning themselves closer to him.

Visibility indeed affected their sight, but they had already seen the nearby terrain from above. Besides the mountain on the left side, everything else was flatland, which posed no problems for them, who were skilled in various terrain battles.

The explosions in the snow continued. SLY didn’t know what KID had scattered on the ground, likely something similar to an energy catalyst. They had no time to pay attention to this; KID’s trickery had ignited their fighting spirit, and they quickly formed a formation in the fog, heading towards KID’s Medical mecha.

Alice approached the white fog, just as she was locking onto a figure moving in the fog due to the explosion, her peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of another mecha hovering behind the rapidly swirling fog. Her eyes narrowed as she assessed the situation of that mecha, as if she could see a faint light.

In the fog, Ying Chenlin pressed the Shadow Fox underfoot after discarding the energy tube. The fox, held tightly, howled in protest, but Ying Chenlin had already entangled its body with the roots.

Seeing the fox’s howling persist, he took one of the excess roots in his hand and wedged it into the fox’s mouth, effectively silencing its fangs. Just as the roots pulled Ying Chenlin back to a certain coordinate, You Su, who had been waiting there, caught sight of Ying Chenlin’s figure in the white fog. He fired his Sniper Cannon, the shell grazing past Ying Chenlin.

The Shadow Fox slammed into the snow layer, and as Ying Chenlin stepped on it, he quickly grabbed You Su’s hand as they brushed past each other, the two mechas embracing each other tightly and rapidly retreating into the pit that Ying Chenlin had previously blasted open to deal with the roots.

At this moment, the pit was already filled with several pollutant corpses. The reverse thrust of their thrusters was completely shut off, and the roots that Ying Chenlin had previously used to pull were now all scattered. Along with the loosened snow layer from the explosion, the roots tightened around the Shadow Fox’s body, pulling it along with the pollutants and ores previously arranged in the pit, breaking through the snow layer and rapidly plunging into the ground.

“Wait!” Alice shouted, “Everyone retreat!”

However, the diminishing sound in the white fog meant her command did not transmit quickly.

At the same time, You Su’s Sniper Cannon shot through the thick white fog and the mechas within, striking the tall Snowy Mountains outside the fog.

The energy tubes buried in the mountain exploded violently due to this sniper shot. The snow layer, already unstable from a previous blizzard, was further disturbed by the explosion, even under the influence of gravity.

Not far away, the observing mechas were momentarily stunned, and a buzzing vibration suddenly reached their ears, the sound expanding and sweeping outward as if causing a disturbance in the air.

The hovering mecha pilots’ expressions changed slightly as they looked towards the direction of the vibration, only to see the mountain near the special white fog magnetic field shaking violently, the rocks of the Snowy Mountains exploding, and a large amount of accumulated snow rolling down rapidly.

At this moment, outside the Slared Contaminated Zone, alarms rang out in Dawn’s spaceship through the Star Alliance’s system.

The anxious crowd was startled by the alarm, Zhang Ge covering his eyes, didn’t dare look at the radar, “Is something wrong?”

Shen Xingtang, pale-faced, looked at the alarm, “What happened?”

The staff member, after adjusting the information, suddenly froze, looking nervously at the head of the mecha base, “I don’t know if something’s happened.”

“The system just reported that there was an avalanche in the Snowy Mountains region.” The staff member said, “Due to the gravitational influence in the Snowy Mountains region, there hasn’t been an avalanche for a long time, but just then, the Star Alliance system detected a large amount of energy leakage, and then it collapsed.”

He pulled up the coordinates of the avalanche’s outbreak, “It seems to have collapsed right where the SLY mechas are.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Ge’s hand covering his face tightened, “Where did it collapse? Say it again!”

The staff member repeated, “At the location where SLY’s mecha signals disappeared.”

Shen Xingtang’s gaze fell on the avalanche’s location, “A large amount of energy leakage?”

Beside them, the heads of YDS and Black Crow paused for a moment, suddenly realizing something.

A strange silence fell over the Dawn spaceship for a few seconds, and finally, Zhang Ge lowered his hand from his face.

Zhang Ge: “?”
